Remember, Remember, to Sleep in November

I nearly forgot to update, but thank goodness I had a reason to get back on my laptop tonight.

It’s only Day 4 of Nano, and I’m already exhausted. It probably has to do with not getting nearly enough sleep each night so far. And the sad part is, it hasn’t been because I’ve been writing so much during those times.

No, I’m the cotton-headed ninnymuggins who keeps checking my regional Nano Discord constantly and otherwise hanging out online and getting sleep. And the thing is, I know better! How many times have I stayed up late writing, only to collapse by the middle/end of the month and have to start taking better care of myself? Why am I doing this to myself at such an early spot in the month, and not even for any proper return?

So let this be a lesson to you: when you do Nano, please make sure to take care of yourself. Get enough sleep. Stay hydrated. Eat, hopefully not just snacks, but that’ll do in a pinch.

I purposely ended tonight at 11,111 words. In the middle of a sentence, even. Not as far as I wanted to be, but ahead of pace, so that’ll do for now. And since I’m finally to a spot I’ve wanted to get to for a while anyway, it should result in added excitement in my plot, and lots of words flying from my fingertips.

That is, of course, if I get enough sleep to have the proper energy to write so much. Good night, y’all!
